​I am intrigued by the sustainability of art, especially ceramics.  The ability to create or capture moments that hold a distinct message appeals to the scholar in me.  The message can be sent down through generations keeping the artist’s voice and thoughts alive.  Furthermore, art is a medium understood by all; people of different cultures and religions who do not share the same spoken language, understand the language of art.  Therefore, the message the artist places thoughtfully in his works can not only be passed on to future generations, but can also be passed on to the world.  I like to think of art as my security in keeping my distinct voice and identity in the midst of billions of people.  It is a reminder of who I am and what I believe in.  I hope that I truthfully reveal myself though each and every work I create.
